The Holyhead Group was founded in 1962
by John Meade under the original banner of Holyhead Boatyard.
Over the course of its 40 year history the Group has grown
from a simple yacht chandlers to the multi-faceted marine
business you see today. The Group’s operating companies
consist of Holyhead Towing Company, Holyhead Marine Services
and Holyhead Shipping Agency with the holding company for
the group being Holyhead Boatyard itself.
Based in Holyhead on Anglesey, North Wales, Holyhead Group
is in a prime position to service the shipping, oil and marine
industries along the North Wales coastline and the Irish Sea.
Over the past decade Holyhead Towing’s fleet of fifteen
dredging and pipelaying support vessels, which include tugs,
multicats, survey boats and barges, has operated throughout
West Europe and as far a field as the Caspian Sea.
Among the Holyhead Group’s many previous and existing
clients are Airbus Industries, the Ministry of Defence, the
RNLI, BHP Petroleum, Irish Ferries, Stena line ferries, Shell
UK, the Department of the Environment, Boskalis/Westminster
Dredging, General Electric, McDermott Pipelines and Smit Salvage.
Each of the companies within Holyhead Group has excelled in
their respective fields and prides themselves on a high quality
work ethic.
